About this youtube thumbnail downloader
Every YouTube video has a set of thumbnail images stored at predictable addresses. Paste the video link and this page lines them all up — the big 1280×720 HD version when the creator uploaded one, plus the smaller standard sizes.
How to use it
- Paste the YouTube link (watch, shorts and youtu.be links all work — or just the 11-character video ID).
- Click Get thumbnails.
- Open the size you want full-size and save the image.
Worked example
For a video at youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ, the ID is dQw4w9WgXcQ — paste the whole link and the tool finds it.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the Full HD size sometimes missing?
Not every video has a 1280×720 thumbnail — older or low-resolution uploads top out at HQ (480×360). Missing sizes hide automatically.
Can I reuse a thumbnail in my own video?
Thumbnails are the creator's copyrighted artwork. Get permission first, or use this for reference and inspiration.
Does it work for Shorts and live streams?
Yes — paste the shorts or live link and the ID is extracted the same way.
