About this text to speech
Hear any text read aloud — proofread your own writing by ear, listen to an article while you work, or check how a name or sentence sounds. It uses the voices already built into your device, so no audio is uploaded or generated on a server.
How to use it
- Type or paste your text.
- Pick a voice and set the speed.
- Click Speak; Stop ends playback any time.

Why does the voice list differ on my phone?
Voices come from your device and browser. Chrome, Edge, Safari and Android each offer different voices, including many languages.
Is there a length limit?
Very long texts can be cut off by some browsers. For essays, read them in a few chunks.
Does it work offline?
Most device voices work offline once loaded, since the speech engine is on your device.
