Frequently asked questions
Why 8 bits per character?
One byte (8 bits) per character is the classic ASCII/Latin-1 model. Characters beyond code 255 (most emoji and scripts) need more bytes in UTF-8, which this simple converter flags instead of mangling.
Do the spaces matter when decoding?
No โ spaces and line breaks are ignored; only complete groups of 8 digits count.
What is 01000001?
65 in decimal โ the letter A.
